MEMORY OF HANDS
VAHLON JUHLA x VALTARI SCHOOL
Students from Valtari School have transformed discarded materials into captivating installations that explore the interplay of light and form. By repurposing objects collected from the school, they breathe new life into what was once forgotten. Guided by intuition and a focus on the creative process, each piece reflects a dialogue between past and present, inviting viewers to reimagine the future while honoring the history embedded in the materials. The result is a luminous celebration of creativity and the transformative power of hands-on making. The workshops together with the students was carried out during an exchange residency in October 2025 between Konst I Halland (SWE) and Kulttuuri Kauppila (FI). The exhibition opened on the 19th of November and was a part of the light festival Vahlon Juhla 2025. The revisit was enabled by Kulturfonden för Sverige och Finland.
