ABOUT

MACE is a project exploring morphology of objects. How human and material interactions shape invites intuition into the processes of creating. In a world of systematization and narrow acceptance objects that chafe the standardization process invites for a brought acceptance and gives the luxury of rarity and handcrafted objects. MACE refers to the joy of making but is at the same time a wordplay of the name RebECca MAgyar who is the founder.

Rebecca Magyar lives and runs her business from Gothenburg, Sweden. She holds a BFA in Design Engineering from Karlstad University and an MFA from HDK in Gothenburg. She has extensive experience working with CMF, particularly within the automotive industry. In recent years, her focus has been on understanding the future demands of sustainable materials and finding ways to reduce environmental impact and footprint. Both by sourcing new materials and by examining production methods to challenge and improve standardized approaches to material selection and implementation. Rebecca always strives to work from a place of curiosity and joy, something she aims to express and reflect through the form and shape of her creations.
